Alysrazor

by Lady Wenaeleyn

When Ragnaros's forces surged into Mount Hyjal, the green dragon Alysra betrayed her allies and helped the traitorous archdruid Fandral Staghelm. As a reward, she was purified with fire and reborn as a fearsome fire hawk.

The Alysrazor fight has four separate stages that repeat throughout the encounter. Only one tank is required for Alysrazor herself, but a second tank is required for Phase 1 adds.

    Trash

Before beginning the encounter, there are some trash pulls that must be cleared. There are two phoenixes sitting on the ground that can be mounted. Two players must fly up on these mounts and begin shooting fireballs at the eggs on either side of the room. These eggs will be constantly hatching little birds that will attack the raid.

The rest of the raid should deal with the two druids first and then switch to the little birds.

    The Pull

When the fight begins, Alysrazor will immediately take flight and cast Firestorm. The entire raid will take heavy damage, and must be healed up quickly. For the rest of this phase, Alysrazor will periodically claw through the raid, using Blazing Claw in a large cone. The boss will be ignored by the majority of the raid during this phase.

The raid should split into two groups: one group at the entrance and one across where Alysrazor took flight. Both tanks should stand in the middle of the room.

    Blazing Talon Initiates
These adds will continuously cast Brushfire, leaving moving blobs of fire that cannot be killed. They will also cast Fieroblast, which should be interrupted. Each time they cast this, their damage and attack speed will increase.

Two Initiates will come at a time, so each group should kill one. They will keep coming throughout the phase and can overwhelm the raid if they are not kept under control.

    Voracious Hatchlings
After a short time, a few eggs will fall from the sky. Once hatched, the Voracious Hatchlings will Imprint on their closest targets, attacking nothing else. These targets will do 1000% extra damage to the hatchlings. Each tank will grab one hatchling and be fully responsible for kiting and killing it. The hatchlings have a frontal cone attack that does serious damage. There should be no other players near these hatchlings.

    • Voracious Hatchlings start out Satiated. Over time, they will become Hungry.
    • Hungry hatchlings have a chance to throw a Tantrum.
    • Groups of Lava Worms will erupt from the ground. The hatchlings will devour them and become Satiated again.
    • The tanks must kite the hatchlings to the worms, being mindful of their conal attack, Gushing Wound.

Phase 1: and it makes a Fiery Ring...

Also during this phase, Alysrazor will drop Molten Feathers. One ranged dps should pick up three of these feathers, allowing them to fly. The feathers also give increased speed and the ability to cast spells while flying.

    • Alysrazor spawns rings of fire in the sky. Flying through the rings will grant mana, rage or energy, reset the flight timer and give a stacking haste buff.
    • 25 stacks of Blazing Power will grant Alysra's Razor.
    • DPS the boss as much as possible while in the air.
    • Be prepared for the flight buff to fade, using class abilities to survive the fall.

Phase 2: the flames went higher...

After three minutes, Phase 2 begins.

    • Alysrazor will removeWings of Flame from all players after five seconds.
    • Stay out of the middle of the room because a huge Fiery Vortex will appear.
    • Avoid the smaller Fiery Tornadoes that will be flying around the room.
    • Rings of fire will now appear on the ground. Run through them to gain the haste buff and regen power.

Phase 3: and it burns, burns, burns...

After about a minute, Alysrazor will fall to the ground, immobile. This is the start of Phase 3, the burn phase.

    • Use Heroism now. The boss will take 50% extra damage while immobile.
    • Hitting Alysrazor with spells will cause her to release mana to players through Essence of the Green.
    • Interrupt the Blazing Talon Clawshapers when they try to re-energize Alysrazor.

The phase ends when Alysrazor reaches 50 Molten Power.

Phase 4: but the fire went wild...

Phase 4 begins when Alysrazor reaches 50 Molten Power and ends when she reaches 100 Molten Power. As she gains power she will begin to pulse with fire, causing AOE damage to the raid.

    • One tank should bring her away from the raid.
    • At 75 Molten Power, the second tank should taunt.
    • Stack the rest of the raid and heal to full.
    • At 100 Molten Power, she will release a burst of flame similar to her very first Firestorm attack. This will again do heavy raid damage and knock everyone back.

Quickly heal up the raid and prepare to start over again with Phase 1. Rinse, repeat and win!
