Beth’tilac

by Lady Wenaeleyn

Matriach of the Cinderweb Brood, Beth'tilac and her merciless offspring sate their appetites by sucking the magma and fire from the corpses of elementals. To provide her broodlings with added sustenance, Beth'tilac has woven a network of incendiary webs throughout her lair to trap unsuspecting prey.

    Positioning and Assignments

The raid will be split into two groups for this encounter: a ground group and a web group.

    • Web Group: 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 melee dps
    • Ground Group: 1 tank, 2 healers, 3 dps (1-2 ranged)

When the fight begins, the web group must immediately climb the web filaments to reach the top of her web. If no players engage Beth'tilac, she will cast Venom Rain.

The ground group should be positioned towards the north, ready to take on the adds that spawn throughout the phase.

    Adds

There are three types of spider adds that the ground group will have to deal with.

    Cinderweb Spinners

    • These spawn in the center of the web, hanging from threads.
    • Assign one ranged dps to keep killing them.
    • They don't hit hard. Their main purpose is to leave behind filaments, which can be used to climb up the web later in the fight.

    Cinderweb Drones

    • These large spiders should be tanked slightly away from the raid. They have a frontal cone.
    • Kill them before they run out of energy. If they run out, they will try to climb the web to drain energy from Beth'tilac.
    • Keep them away from Cinderweb Spiderlings.

    Cinderweb Spiderlings

    • These small spiders will spawn in groups around the room.
    • They can be Consumed by the boss and the Drones to restore their health. Consuming will also increase the Drones' damage and attack speed.
    • All dps must switch to these adds to kill them quickly.

    Smoldering Devastation

Beth'tilac starts the fight full of Fire Energy. This slowly drains over time. When she reaches zero energy, she will cast Smoldering Devastation on anything above her web.

    • Drones that are allowed to fully deplete their energy will try to drain from Beth'tilac. This will make Smoldering Devastation happen faster.
    • Players in the web group should jump off the web through the hole in the middle to avoid the damage.

    Frenzy

After three Smoldering Devastations, Beth'tilac will move down off her web.

    • All remaining adds should be killed before she comes down.
    • She will gain a stacking Frenzy buff that increases her damage over time.
    • Beth'tilac should be at less than 75% health when the phase begins, or dps will not be enough to last the fight

Beth'tilac will cast Widow's Kiss on the current tank. The debuff will deal fire damage to those near the target, so this phase requires specific positioning. The raid should be positioned in a triangle: the main tank is one point, the offtank is a second point, and the rest of the raid is the third point.

The offtank should taunt once the first tank gets the Widow's Kiss debuff. The first tank will taunt back when the debuff wears off (approximately 20 seconds). This tank swap will continue for the rest of the fight.
