I promised Ram I'd make a quick write up about not just my favorite bands, but my favorite albums and what to expect from them. So here ya go:

Emperor- All four Emperor albums are brilliant and worth listening to, but anyone unfamiliar with the conventions of Black Metal or any of the extreme genres may be really put off. Emperor is the band that created the "Symphonic Black Metal" sound and each of there albums contains a different development of the ideas of Norse Pantheism and Deistic Satanism. Their first "In the Nightside Eclipse" is their hardest to listen to, their last, Prometheus: the discipline of Fire and Demise," is the most accessible due to the high production values, though my favorite is "Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk." Listen to all 4 albums, my reccomended order : Prometheus, Anthems, IX Equilibrium, In the Nightside Eclipse.

Wuthering Heights- I like alot of their material, but "Far From the Maddening Crowd" is by far their best. Its a modern classic to most Prog heads and the most effective albums to use folk elements I've heard. Probably also one of my favorite records of all time.

Immortal- Kings of Black Metal, Immortal has seen and done it all, and changed styles over the years. "Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism" showcases the early black metal style and may be fun to listen to a few times, but 2004's "Sons of Northern Darkness" is their best, showing a progression toward more thrash styling. "At the Heart of Winter" shows a meeting point of the old and new styles, and is my second favorite.

Symphony X- "The Oddessey" is my favorite. All of their albums have something to like though.

Zyklon- Zyklon is essentially the members of Emperor playing brutal death metal. "Aeon" is my favorite, as well as one of my favorite death metal albums

Death- I like their later work "Symbolic" and "The Sound of Perseverance," which blend death metal and progressive metal, with Black Metal elements. This music is very extreme, definitely an acquired taste like Emperor.

Dimmu Borgir- My favorites are "Puritanical Euphoric Mysanthropia" and "Spiritual Black Dimensions." This is very accessible Black Metal and will be more palettable than Emperor or Immortal if you aren't accustomed to the density of the genre.

Black Sabbath - Not enough space to discuss the most important band of the 20th century, so I'll give some of my favorites from each era. Ozzy: Paranoid, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Dio: Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules. Tony Martin: Tyr.

Rainbow - I'm only really fan of the Dio era, so I'll say listen to "Rising," a brilliant early prog metal album.

Dio - My favorites from Dio's solo project: Holy Diver, Strange Highways, Killing the Dragon.

Wintersun- They only have 1 album, but DAMN its good. A genre transcending master work and not easily classifiable, even if you need to be prepared for the black metal elements Jari Maenpaa presents throughout the album. More accessible than Emperor, but less so than much of Dimmu Borgir's work or that of Death. Definitely one of my favorite records ever, and it was recorded by just 2 dudes!

Mayhem - Perhaps the most infamous Black Metal Band. "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" is a legendary recording, but its harsh and inaccessible and their latest "Ordo ad Chao" represents their creative apex, and I would choose to listen to this one first. Attila's vocals on this are very haunting, but any Mayhem is not for the faint of heart. This is VERY avante guarde metal.

Lost Horizon - Only 2 albums, listen to them both. "Awakening the World" and "A Flame to the Ground Beneath" are masterworks of Power Metal and easily loved by even the most uninitiated metal fan.

Helloween - I'm a fan of early Helloween. "Walls of Jericho," "Keeper of the Seven Keys" pt 1 and 2 are my favorites.

Gamma Ray - The current band of the founder of Helloween, Kai Hansen. "Power Plant" and "Somewhere out in Space" are my favorites.

Rush - 'Nuff said about the biggest name in progressive rock. Every era has something for somebody. Favorite of the 70's is "Farewell to Kings," "Power Windows" I like from their 80's synth based sound. "Moving Pictures" is their most loved album, a good mix of both sounds. Their latest, "Snakes and Arrows" is much more guitar driven than the 80's sound, and very moving.

Hammerfall - First and still the best album is "Glory to the Brave," a metal classic.

Perhaps more to come...

Why I want to join:
I found out about the guild through Temptress. I understand that the guild consists of casual players with more emphasis towards PVE. This fits well with my play style. It is also appealing to me that TWL has a long history dating back to vanilla beta, since I am looking to join a guild for the long term.

What I can contribute to the guild:
I identify with the guild's values and will contribute to the guild's friendly and helpful culture. I am currently in the process of gearing up, and will soon be an active participant in guild raids.
Additional comments:
I spoke with Tempest about this issue: due to commitments IRL, there may be periods of inactivity where I would not log on for a couple of months. While normally I am removed from whatever guild I am a part of, I hope to stay with this guild for the long-term. In return, I would not leave this guild for any other.

        Application Information

Required Information:
Character Name - Lanirra

Primary Class/Level - Shaman, Enhancement, 85.

Alt List - Lanyra 85 Fury Warrior (Not geared to raid), Laneera 74 Paladin.

Why do you want to join - When I look for a guild I look for people who see WoW as a game and not as a job. I want to raid, but I also want to plan wow around my life not my life around wow. From what I can tell is your guild is a group of people who treat the game as a game but take it seriously on the night you raid. A casual environment overall but a no-nonsense get things done raid group.

What can you offer the guild - As far as professions go I have 517 JC on my shaman and 523 Enchanting on my warrior so unfortunately I can't offer much in that category. I can offer extensive knowledge of the Enhancement spec and the game over all. I've been playing wow for about 6 years now so I've seen most of what there is to see. Also I'm fun(ny).

Age - 21 Years old.

Optional Information:
MMO Experience - I played Runescape Hardcore in middle school? I've also tinkered in most other mmo's to at least some extent, SWtoR, Aion, Rift etc.

Guild Experience - On Sargeras I haven't been in any big name guilds, mostly low key casual guilds. I've enjoyed them but their lack of organization and showing up (salihfdbalsdnm) causes a lack of success when it comes to raiding.

Real Name - Jackson or Jax, whichever you prefer.

Timezone - East Coast timezone (Server time +1hour)

Occupation - I've been unemployed for a few months after being laid off from a restaurant where I bussed and waitered until today I actually found a job delivering pizza.

Character Backstory - Some players may wish to include a character backstory.

Additional Information - As I mentioned before I've been playing this game for almost 6 years and I'm fairly well versed in all aspects of the game. I've raided everything from Karazhan to DS and EVERY raid inbetween while they were progression content (I actually didn't raid Sunwell as progression T.T) and I'm no stranger to raiding in both a casual and hardcore setting.

I appreciate your time and hopefully I'll be raiding alongside you all in the near future.

Some of you may have noticed some strange redirecting behavior last night and earlier today when trying to access the website. I worked on my server some, checking files for any tampering. No tampering was found and I surmised that the issue may be on my hosting provider's side. So I contacted them, and while their response wasn't helpful, they must have done something because everything seems to be fine now.

My account and ftp passwords have been changed, just in case.

Anyways... we're back online now. As always, if anyone notices anything fishy going on, let me or Wen know asap!
Hi, I am 21 years old from saint louis, missouri, I just recently transferred to this server from Vashj with 3 friends. After playing several years of wow I finally managed to settle with my mage, which i used to play in BC. I have all raid experiences from BC and higher. Like i said i played my mage mostly through BC, into WOTLK i played a warrior tank and a resto druid which i still sometimes play. Going into Cata i started playing my prot warrior however the guild i currently was in didn't have a need for tanks so i transferred my mage to the server and leveled him to 85. I've done most of DS and all the other Cata raids. I believe I would be a great addition to the guild as I have great raid awareness which is essential for a ranged dps.

Wow armory hasn't updated yet since I had just transferred.

I will be on tomorrow night, hope to hear from you guys, thanks!

I just transferred over with 3 other friends. I am 21 years old and I am from Saint Louis, MO. We have played on multiple realms and after debating on a few servers for a couple of hours, we ended up here. I don't have any alt's at the moment because of the transfer that just went thru but I will make a few once I get settled in. Once I got the on the server, I started to look for a raiding guild that is suitable for me. Redmile whispered me and gave me some information about the guild. He informed me on where you guys currently are with progression and what your raid times were. It all seemed to be a perfect match, so here I am. I have been playing wow since late vanilla, early bc. I main tanked thru kara,za,ssc,tk,hyjal, early bt. I played a rogue as a main after that. My rogue did a lot of Naxx, Maly, Sarth 3D, Toc, and Ulduar. I quit a short while after and now I am playing again on my warrior.

Wow armory hasn't updated yet since I had just transferred.
I will be on tomorrow night after work, hopefully I will hear from you guys soon.
